We had a fantastic Cuban dining experience! I made a reservation in advance (they allow up to 2-hour slots with a credit card on file), which I highly recommend — this place gets busy and I really didn’t want to miss out. The ambiance was vibrant, with warm red lighting and great energy. We were welcomed with Cuban crackers right after being seated — a nice touch. We kicked things off with Hemingway’s daiquiris, which were absolutely delicious. For dinner, I had the asado — rich, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. I can’t recall the exact name of my partner’s dish, but it was just as satisfying, and the rice and beans served on the side were comforting and tasty. We had a second round of cocktails later in the evening, though I can’t remember their names — only that they were great! To end the meal, we ordered Cuban coffee (SO good — strong and smooth) and shared the Cuban flan, which was a lovely, sweet finale. While the place was on the louder side, we really enjoyed the live music, even though it started much later than scheduled. All in all, a memorable and flavorful night — definitely worth a visit!

This beautiful little restaurant has great vibes. The food was great, the drinks yummy and the entertainment a welcome blend of live music and dancing (see? I mentioned you Alfredo!). I would definitely go again. Shout-out to Andy, our server.

Being from Miami it is hard to eat in an area that feels like a tourist trap. But if I had to choose a solid representation of Cuban food and hospitality Sala'o is a fabulous choice. I came in on a Saturday night with a friend from out of town who wanted to hear live music. Sala'o delivered. They had a 5 piece band on stage singing an array of classic salsa songs. We sat at the bar and ordered dinner there as the restaurant was very busy. There were no tables available inside or out for dining. But there was some seating at the bar and we're happy with the service there. Our bartender was very sweet and accommodating. I had a shot of Don Julio, and was pleasantly surprised it was only $15. Given the prices in Miami and on 8 street, I genuinely expected to pay more. For dinner we tried the tostones rellenos de mariscos, the ropa vieja with moros, and the camarones al ajillo (an appetizer that comes with tostones). All were tasty and the portions were healthy so I felt like they were fairly priced especially for being on Calle Ocho. Overall, if you are looking for a place with a lovely and lively atmosphere to have dinner, this place checks all the boxes.

Had a great experience here on my birthday! Loved the atmosphere, live entertainment 7 nights a week (which is what brought me in), and the entrees were MUCH better than expected! We had the Camarones Al Ajillo app, Corvina and Chicken Breast which were both flavorful and cooked to perfection! They actually melt in your mouth!! Amazing! The presentation was also unexpectedly beautiful (see pics). Only things that could've been better were the tostones that were meh, and black beans needed a lil something. Passionfruit Mojito was just ok. Service was upbeat, friendly, and fast! The team were great and made sure I had a Happy Birthday. Thank you Guillermo & Company! Parking can also be a pita around here. Get informed about parking options. That notwithstanding, highly recommend!!

Wow. Wow. WOW. That’s all I can say about Sala’o. From the second we sat down to the moment we left we had an absolutely PHENOMENAL time. The service, the drinks, the food, the live music, the atmosphere, every single aspect of this meal and service was ON. POINT. I would HIGHLY recommend this space to anyone and everyone looking for amazing Cuban food on Calle Ocho. HUGE shout and thank you to Miami Culinary Tours for introducing us to this place on their Little Havana Tour. Also, ask for Yangel. He was an amazing service and extremely attentive.
